Super Easy Beachwaves

Ever wonder how some people have the time to doll up and make their hair look so good??  I came across this post, and thought I’d share it with you.

If any of you know me personally, I am really bad with hair, I only really know how to straighten it.  So when I say this is easy, believe me.

Divide your hair into sections and twist them. Twist thicker strands for looser waves, thinner strands for smaller waves. Use your straight iron and clamp your hair for 10-20 seconds, doing an inch at a time. Once done, do not release the hair, let it sit.

Repeat on each strand.

Let them sit for a bit.  I usually leave in until my make up is done, then I run my fingers through.  Add your desired product if you want them to stay in longer.

I love feedback so let me know your thoughts and comments.

Bowl of Healthiness

I’m here in Hong Kong, and I tell you, is it hard to eat clean here!

So finally, I made it to the supermarket, and bought some groceries.

So I just added some mixed  berries (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry) a teaspoon of each seeds (chia, hemp, flax) and a cup of dried fruit oats, low fat milk and vanilla yogurt for that extra touch of sweetness.

Kaftan craze

Kaftans are this season’s must have, embraced by celebrity fashionista’s of all ages like Nicole Ritchie and Sharon Osborne. This beachwear attire is great not only for the beach but to go out for a bite to eat at a beach side town or a night out in the city. This hip trend is also great to express your personal style, from bohemian to classic.
You can play up your favorite Kaftan with flip-flops and jean shorts or with your favorite pair of skinny jeans and wedges. You can also pair it with a camisole, a nice pair of dress pants and your favorite stilettos.
Kaftans today are not like cover ups of the past. They boast shorter and longer hemlines sometimes with slits, either is great to show off your beautiful legs. Tapered bodices are evident in the modern kaftan and are sometimes accented with a belted waist to give you the perfect hourglass figure. Most have embellished necklines, which can vary in lengths from round to more plunging. Whatever style, cut, or length you choose there is a kaftan for you.

Be Smart in the Sun While Having Fun

Who doesn’t like a good dose of Sunny D!!

But without the proper protection, the sun and the UV rays can actually be your worse ENEMY!!

Most important bad effect- AGING and WRINKLES

Your skin being the largest organ of your body, Im sure you would want to keep it happy, but from the vain part of looking at it, skin is the inner layer of clothes you can’t change and a lot of people admire beautiful skin.

There is soo much information on why the UV rays are bad and how to prevent but I’m just going to list a few so you readers don’t get bored reading too much.  But if you are interested, make sure you google it!

- causes premature aging, rough skin, age and sun spots

- skin cancer

- lowers your immunity against infections

People with skin prototype 1 & 2 are more likely to feel these symptoms sooner.

(Type 1- always burns, never tans

Type 2- burns easily, tans minimally)

(leathery skin- good news- permanently tanned…. bad news- irreversible effect, not even with laser resurfacing)

So make sure you take the below precautions, and make sunscreen a priority (not just when you’re in the sun.  UV rays are all around you!! Even in your office!!)

- apply sunscreen 30 min before sun or UV exposure, overtop of your creams

- use SPF 15 and higher, daily use of SPF 15 is said to be more effective then using a higher SPF

- re-apply your sunscreen.  a common instructions is to re-apply 2 hours after being out in the sun, but studies show that re-applying half an hour after exposure is said to be more effective.  But make sure to re-apply after swimming and towelling down.  Remember the strongest sun is 10am to 2pm.

A great sunscreen that I highly recommended is the Shiseido Anessa Sunscreen!  SPF 50, and the amazing part of the cream?? NOT Oooily!!!!  I have an already naturally oily skin base, so when I use sunscreen, it just adds to my shine.  This product when you first squeeze out of the bottle, seems really wet, and oily.  But when applied to the skin, it pretty much dries non oily!!  So make sure you grab a bottle before heading out into the sun!
